In Moonraker, While Hugo Drax is hunting pheasants in the parc of his residence in California (actually filmed at Vaux-le-Vicomte in France) with a Holland & Holland Royal 12 Gauge double-barreled shotgun, Bond (Roger Moore) comes to him to thank him for his hospitality. Drax encourages Bond to have a taste of "such a good sport" before leaving for the airport and gives him a similar shotgun to try to shoot a pheasant. Bond then nonchalantly uses it to kill a sniper hiding in a nearby tree who was aiming at him with his Steyr Mannlicher-Schoenauer Sporter.

This double-barreled shotgun chambered in .500 Nitro Express (NE) is given to Bond (Daniel Craig) by Kincade as they are about to defend Skyfall Lodge against Raoul Silva's army. It once belonged to James' deceased father, Andrew Bond. He uses it against the first wave of Silva's henchmen and discards it when it runs out of ammunition, picking up a HK416 assault rifle from one of the dead henchmen.
Recoil seems no big deal to Bond despite the mammoth cartridge
